Winner of the Konstantin Sofianos Scholarship 2015/2016:
Paula Stephanie Andropoulos
I was born in Johannesburg, in 1994, to an Egyptian-born Greek father and an Irish mother, both of whom are dedicated lawyers. I matriculated from Roedean school in 2012, with six distinctions and a passion for the study of English Literature. I began my undergraduate degree at UCT in 2012, with the intention of studying Law; ultimately, however, I elected to complete my BA in English and Gender studies, which I did in 2015, with distinction. Having deferred my legal career indefinitely, I look forward to my Honours year, and am immensely grateful for the opportunity which this scholarship has facilitated.
